What do Expedition Rangers do?

Rangers is fun and meaningful, so you will enjoy yourself with great friends and adult leaders who will guide and support you on your journey to becoming a Christlike leader. Rangers meet weekly at an Assembly of God church in your area. There you will earn badges that will teach you skills from how to use an axe to being a junior leader in your church and community. As you advance, you will be given more responsibility that will boost your confidence and leadership abilities.

Sign me up! What do I bring?

Your church will let you know what uniform they prefer, but most Rangers your age wear a utility shirt on which they proudly display their patches.

You will also need an Expedition Rangers handbook in which your leaders can mark off your progress and where you can read up more about what you need to learn.

We also encourage you to bring your Bible and $1 collection (called dues) to your weekly meetings.

What events can I take part in?

Camps and events, sponsored by the district include Junior Leadership Training Academy which give you access to camps designed to teach you leadership skills and how to operate as a team. These camps include canoeing, hiking, and outdoor survival. Advance from 5 of these camps and you graduate the Academy with the much sought-after Rangers Saber!

Ranger Summer Camp is very popular with Expedition Rangers! You camp as an outpost at Rangers-owned Camp Wilderness and enjoy activities such as swimming, games, sports, paintball and the "Adventure Challenge". As an Expedition Ranger, you are also old enough to join the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship, where you will be mentored in the fine characteristics and skills of the frontiersmen that built this great country. Tap the Academy icon on the home page to learn more about how you can earn your Saber. The FCF icon will lead you to a whole new Expedition that includes black powder rifles, primative shelters, and tomahawks.

But there's more! Your Outpost will also have events like Ranger Derby car races, church lock-ins and sports camps planned for you at the local group level. Just remember: Royal Rangers is a series of experiences where you do fun things and learn new skills. The best experiences aren't confined to a meeting room.

How does a Ranger behave?

As a Ranger, you will live by a code that defines you. By being Alert, Clean, Honest, Courageous, Loyal, Courteous, Obedient, and Spiritual we share our confidence and God's love with others. You stand out and attract others by being a man of God.
