WSAC 2024

WINTER SURVIVAL ACTION CAMP (WSAC) is for those who wish to learn more about winter camping and winter survival skills. You will receive instructions in the fundamentals of cold weather camping/ survival and advanced training. Classes include instructions on snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, avalanche safety, and cold water rescue. Activities include; hiking, cooking outdoors, building fires, building a winter survival shelter, and sleeping overnight in a primitive shelter. Much of the instruction is based on the requirements from the silver Winter Camping Merit.

Be aware that a significant amount of time will be spent outdoors in winter weather conditions. Bring extra footwear, gloves, hats, and other gear that are appropriate for extreme winter temperatures.
